Gold Tang Jian - Imperial Elegance in Forged Steel
The Gold Tang Jian draws its inspiration from the golden age of Chinese swordcraft - the Tang Dynasty (618-907 CE), when Chinese blade-making reached its zenith and influenced sword design from Japan to Persia. This DRACBLADE reproduction captures the imperial aesthetic with a hollow-forged blade and gilt-accented fittings.
Blade Craft
The blade is forged from high-carbon steel using a hollow-ground technique that reduces weight without sacrificing structural integrity. The central fuller runs the length of the blade, a design feature that originated in Tang-era jian to improve balance. The gold-toned etching along the ricasso echoes decorative motifs found on swords excavated from Tang imperial tombs.
