The Han Dynasty Sword (Han Jian) is hand-forged by DRACBLADE artisans in Longquan, China, using the traditional eight-surface (Ba Mian) blade geometry a hallmark of authentic Chinese swordsmithing from the Han Dynasty period (206 BCE - 220 CE).

Blade

Forged from high-carbon steel (1060 grade) with an eight-surface (octagonal) cross-section. This geometry creates eight distinct planes that catch and reflect light differently, producing a stunning visual effect. The high-carbon composition provides excellent edge retention and authentic handling weight. Full tang construction runs the entire length of the handle for structural integrity.

Historical Context

The Han Jian was the gentleman weapon of Chinese scholars and military officers for over 400 years. Its straight, double-edged design symbolizes justice and honor in Chinese culture. This reproduction uses the same eight-surface forging technique documented in Han Dynasty metallurgical texts.

Fittings

Rosewood handle with hand-carved grip pattern. Alloy guard and pommel with traditional Chinese motif engraving. The scabbard is solid wood with a hand-rubbed finish.
